Jet Venturi Scrubbers

Powerful Dual-Phase Removal for High-Gas & Dust Environments

Jet Venturi scrubbers remove gas and particulates using liquid jet energy—often without a fan—making them ideal for corrosive gases and emergency response.

Why Choose Jet Venturi Scrubbers?

Jet Venturi systems are designed to move and treat contaminated gas streams using the motive force of liquid sprays. By creating a vacuum effect through high-velocity liquid injection, they can draw in and scrub large volumes of gas without mechanical assistance.

Because of their simple design and powerful liquid-gas mixing, Jet Venturis excel in applications where:

  • Emergency gas capture is critical
  • Particulate and gas removal are required simultaneously
  • Corrosive or reactive gases are present
  • System uptime and reliability are non-negotiable

How Do Jet Venturi Scrubbers Work?

Jet Venturi scrubbers operate similarly to an eductor or ejector system. A liquid—typically water or a reactive solution—is forced through a spray nozzle at high velocity. This jet creates a vacuum that pulls in the surrounding gas. Inside the Venturi throat, intense mixing occurs between the gas and liquid phases, enabling efficient transfer of particles and gas-phase contaminants to the liquid.

Once mixed, the gas-liquid stream is sent to a separator, typically a tank or cyclone, where the clean gas is released and the contaminated liquid is collected and recycled.

Built for Critical Applications

Jet Venturi scrubbers are often used as Stage 1 in a multi-phase scrubbing system. They’re particularly useful in handling thermal loads and high concentrations of vapor before gas enters a Packed Tower, improving overall system efficiency and reducing operating costs.

They are widely used for:

  • Chlorine or Ammonia Emergency Scrubbers

  • Fuel Gas Cleaning in Synfuel Plants

  • Corrosive Fume Removal

  • Combined Systems with Packed Towers for 99%+ Efficiency Requirements
